About the Role

The Cost Planning team provides a wide range of outputs to aid client decision-making, including Order of Magnitude and detailed first-principles estimates, estimating assurance, support for major programme set-up, and estimating data services. Key responsibilities include producing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates and plans, managing the estimating process at project level, supporting change-control activities, delivering value-for-money analyses and benchmarking reports, and undertaking commercial assurance and negotiation of contractor offers. Planners also promote best-practice estimating methods and contribute to departmental objectives while staying current with technical developments. • Produce accurate cost estimates and detailed cost plans for large, complex infrastructure programmes. • Manage the estimating process at project level, including change-control and commercial assurance. • Deliver estimating outputs such as Order of Magnitude, first-principles detailed estimates, and data support. • Promote best-practice estimating methodology and value-for-money benchmarking. • Negotiate contractor offers and prepare value-for-money reports. • Work remotely from the UK while supporting UK and global clients.

What You Bring

To meet rising demand and ambitious growth plans, Turner & Townsend is hiring Cost Planners and Senior Cost Planners with proven experience in infrastructure sectors such as rail, airports, highways, water or utilities. The role can be performed remotely from the UK while supporting UK-based and global clients, either as an embedded resource within a client organisation or on ad-hoc projects through the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub. Candidates must hold a high-standard qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying, have successful experience delivering estimating or QS services on large projects, and be proficient with estimating software packages. Membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CIOB or ACE (or a pathway towards chartered status) is required. • Hold a high-standard qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant large-project experience. • Demonstrate proficiency with estimating software and membership (or pathway) to RICS, CIOB or ACE.
