About the Role

• Responsible for complex technical work across environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards and federal/state regulations. • Maintain expert knowledge of specific government agency requirements. • Develop, implement and maintain safety and health programs, systems and procedures. • Monitor and prevent workplace hazards and diseases. • Investigate accidents, injuries, and hazard‑related complaints. • Recommend improvements in processes, designs, procedures and equipment to minimize hazards. • Develop and conduct employee training and emergency preparedness, ensuring program quality. • Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice. • Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions. • Take technical responsibility for a major phase or component of a project. • Lead a team of ES&H specialists and support personnel.

What You Bring

The role is based on‑site in Abu Dhabi, UAE, within the DCS business group of AECOM Middle East Limited. It falls under the Transportation business line and reports to the International operating group. The position may require travel within the UAE for site inspections and audits. • Utilize advanced techniques and diversified environmental principles. • Self‑initiate assignments and use independent judgment in data analysis and problem resolution. • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (required for engineering graduates). • Minimum 10 years of SH&E experience with focus on supervision and leadership. • Proven track record developing, implementing and managing effective safety and health programs. • In‑depth knowledge of UAE and international SH&E legislative and regulatory obligations. • Strong analytical, risk assessment and mitigation skills. • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of influencing at all organizational levels. • Proficient with SH&E management and reporting software/tools. • Experience conducting inspections, reporting issues, and managing corrective actions. • Familiarity with international SH&E standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. • Demonstrated leadership, mentorship and team development capabilities. • Knowledge of local UAE safety regulations and standards. • Willingness to travel within the UAE for site inspections and audits.
