About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once legal load capacity is reached. The role includes commercial pick‑up of containers often exceeding 1,000 lb, residential collection in neighborhood environments, and roll‑off handling of large open‑top containers, all requiring skilled backing maneuvers and navigation of congested roadways, alleys, and tight industrial sites. • Operate vehicle following WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Report unsafe conditions or service issues immediately to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend all required training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Notify the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. • Alert Operations Manager or Dispatch to service interruptions such as blocked streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards. • Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Empty all receptacles and leave the customer site clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out procedures. • Perform scheduled duties and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring
• Required: minimum 1 year operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within 7 years; at least 18 years old; legal work eligibility; Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: high school diploma or GED. • Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
