About the Role

The Electronics Technician role supports Parsons’ partnership with Rohde & Schwarz to deploy a modern IP Voice Communication System for the FAA. The position focuses on replacing legacy voice switches at Air Traffic Control Towers across the United States, ensuring reliable communication for air traffic controllers, supervisors, and supporting 24‑hour operations. Technicians are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining electronic equipment such as servers, routers, switches, and audio communication hardware. Work includes preparing sites, securing racks, terminating LAN and other wiring, and performing routine troubleshooting and calibration using standard test instruments. • Prepare sites and install voice switch equipment at ATCTs, Enroute Centers, and TRACONs. • Set up and secure equipment racks, install servers, routers, switches, and terminate LAN cabling. • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, align, and calibrate audio and communication systems. • Conduct tests and inspections using multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other test equipment. • Read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for accurate installations. • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other technicians to meet project schedules and budgets. • Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

What You Bring

The role requires a high school diploma and at least five years of experience testing, repairing, and installing fiber optics, radio control systems, and other complex electronics. Candidates must be proficient in LAN termination, able to read technical manuals and schematics, and possess strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Additional assets include familiarity with industry‑standard equipment, best practices for electronic installations, and experience with tools such as signal generators and oscilloscopes. Experience troubleshooting and modifying a range of electronic devices—from radar and telecommunications gear to industrial and medical equipment—is also valued. • Meet federal security requirements, pass background check, and be able to travel up to 100% within the USA. • Required: high school diploma, 5+ years experience with fiber optics and complex electronics, LAN termination proficiency, problem‑solving and teamwork skills. • Desired: experience with industry‑specific equipment, knowledge of standards and best practices, familiarity with electronic installation tools.
