Delivery Lead, Design

About the Role

Key responsibilities include leading the design delivery of complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, environmental requirements, and project objectives. You will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, manage all design interfaces, and act as the primary design interface across ACCIONA Agua, engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory stakeholders. The role also involves driving innovation, value engineering, sustainable design outcomes, resolving technical issues, supporting procurement readiness, construction integration, and stakeholder engagement. • Lead design delivery for complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects. • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, environmental regulations, and project goals. • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage all design interfaces. • Drive innovation, value engineering, and sustainable design outcomes. • Resolve technical issues and maintain design integrity across all project phases. • Support procurement readiness, construction integration, and stakeholder engagement. • Build strong stakeholder relationships and communicate effectively. • Work for a global leader employing 3,000+ staff across Australia & New Zealand.

What You Bring

Key capabilities include demonstrated design leadership in major water/wastewater projects, strong technical expertise in advanced treatment processes and energy‑efficient systems, and excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship‑building skills. The candidate must be able to resolve design issues, optimise project outcomes, and deliver efficient, innovative solutions through value engineering. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or related discipline) and have at least 5 years of senior technical experience in water or wastewater infrastructure. Proven experience delivering WRRFs, treatment plants, or large network upgrades and a strong understanding of Australian Standards and design governance are required. • Demonstrate design leadership and expertise in advanced, energy‑efficient treatment processes. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or related). • Possess 5+ years of senior technical experience in water or wastewater infrastructure. • Proven track record delivering WRRFs, treatment plants, or large network upgrades. • Strong understanding of Australian design standards and governance.
