About the Role
You will be responsible for issuing permits to work and ensuring compliance with method statements, risk assessments, SSOW and Integral Health & Safety procedures. The conduct of any personnel under your control must be safe, professional and conscientious. • Perform daily checks on plant and critical assets, reporting findings to the Engineering Supervisor. • Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on assets according to contract obligations and SLAs. • Plan and support specialist contractor PPM and reactive works, ensuring RAMS, client approvals and stakeholder communication. • Own and maintain areas and plant rooms under Integral control to required standards. • Verify contractor worksheets, inspect work quality and communicate recommendations to the Engineering Supervisor. • Review service reports, chase recommendations and follow up actions. • Respond to day‑to‑day reactive building operations, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire and specialist extract systems. • Handle emergency alarms and escalations during duty periods. • Update CAFM system for all PPM and reactive tasks from initiation to completion. • Report critical incidents, near‑misses and support follow‑up actions. • Maintain site stock levels, audit inventory and request spares as needed. • Participate in SOP/EOP reviews, drills and continuous improvement of safe work systems.

JLL Workplace Management is seeking a talented Multi‑Skilled Shift Engineer for a brand‑new life‑science site in London Blackfriars. The shift pattern is 4 on 4 off, 7 am‑7 pm covering both days and nights. The role requires an extensive understanding of building services engineering (mechanical, electrical, plumbing and associated assets) and responsibility for effective inspection, operation, record‑keeping and maintenance of all site assets. The personal specification includes a minimum of three years’ experience in critical environments such as life‑science, hospital, banking or data‑centre, and HV & LV authorised person status. Excellent communication skills, strong IT and report‑writing abilities, and a willingness to attend on‑ and off‑site training are required. A professional appearance, integrity, punctuality and a collaborative team attitude are essential, alongside relevant qualifications such as Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Level 3, VRF AC knowledge and the ability to attain 18th Edition IEE certification, IOSH Working Safely and IPAF L8 Awareness training. • Operate all integral building systems competently and efficiently. • Minimum three years’ experience in critical environments (life‑science, hospital, data centre, etc.). • HV & LV authorised person status. • Excellent communication skills with all staff levels. • Proactive attitude with high standards of operation. • Proficient in IT and report writing (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Willingness to attend on‑ and off‑site training, including nights away from home. • Strong initiative and drive for continuous improvement. • Professional appearance and ability to follow verbal and written instructions. • Integrity, honesty and punctuality. • Knowledge of VRF AC systems and split AC units. • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Level 3 or equivalent qualification. • Ability to attain 18th Edition IEE wiring certification. • IOSH Working Safely certification. • IPAF Combined L8 Awareness training.
