About the Role

Key duties include operating the crane from the cab using pedals and levers, raising and lowering leads, driving pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures such as buildings, bridges, and piers, and using the pile driver head to install pilings. The operator also judges distances, positions hammers, activates power hammers, selects appropriate attachments, coordinates with supervisors, follows safety codes, reads load charts, interprets hand signals, performs minor maintenance, conducts daily equipment inspections, reports issues, and assists other workers. • Operate machine from cab using pedals and levers • Raise and lower both live and fixed leads • Drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures such as buildings, bridges, and piers • Use pile driver head on machine to drive pilings • Install pilings into leads • Position hammers over pilings • Activate power hammers • Use multiple controls to operate equipment • Select appropriate attachments • Confer with building or project supervisor on job specifications • Comply with all safety codes • Read and interpret load charts • Interpret hand signals to determine material placement • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities for tools and equipment • Perform daily inspections on equipment, including checking fluids, refueling, adding fluids, and assessing component wear • Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring

The operator must be certified to operate a lattice boom crane with live brake capability, understand all safety hazards related to the work, and safely use or operate related tools and equipment. This role is performed in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. Physical requirements involve handling loads up to 50 lb regularly (up to 100 lb occasionally), repetitive hand/arm and leg use, strong hand‑eye coordination, ability to communicate clearly, and performing tasks ranging from sedentary to heavy work. The job demands climbing, balancing, bending, crawling, kneeling, working on uneven or adverse weather conditions, possibly in confined spaces, and operating various vehicles and power tools. Mental qualifications include effective communication with management, strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills for following directions and safety policies, the ability to work at varying tempos while concentrating amid distractions, sound decision‑making, detail orientation, and the capacity to remember and observe important details. • Judge distance and position of pilings leads
