About the Role
The Business Development Manager will drive growth by identifying and prospecting potential clients in the transportation sector, including manufacturers, retailers, distributors, and other businesses needing transportation services. The role involves creating and executing sales strategies to enter new markets, conducting market research on trends and competitors, building a robust sales pipeline, preparing proposals and presentations, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with operations, finance, and legal teams to deliver tailored solutions. • Identify and prospect transportation industry clients (manufacturers, retailers, distributors, etc.) • Develop and execute sales strategies to enter new markets and expand the customer base • Conduct market research on trends, customer needs, and competitor activities • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to achieve sales targets • Prepare proposals and presentations outlining solutions, pricing, and value propositions • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with clients • Collaborate with operations, finance, and legal teams to craft customized solutions • Track sales activities and pipeline progress using CRM software • Generate regular reports on sales performance, achievements, and challenges • Analyze sales data and market trends for optimization and strategic decisions

What You Bring
The position requires tracking sales activities with CRM tools, generating performance reports, analyzing data for optimization, and meeting sales targets. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, logistics or a related field, at least 5 years of transportation sales experience, strong industry knowledge, negotiation and communication skills, proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office, ability to work independently, and willingness to travel. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, logistics, or related field • Possess 5+ years of proven success in transportation sales or a similar role • Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics, trucking, or related services • Exhibit strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite • Willing to travel as needed
