About the Role
The SME will guide the integration of commercial satellite networks such as Amazonas Nexus and the mPower constellation into the broader DoD SATCOM enterprise. Responsibilities include developing and operating both military and commercial systems, delivering training to engineering staff, and working closely with government, military, and industry partners to solve technical challenges. • Integrate Amazonas Nexus, mPower constellation and other commercial satellite networks into the DoD SATCOM enterprise. • Develop, plan, operate and control military and commercial SATCOM systems and software. • Recommend changes to improve site operations and system performance; interface with developers, vendors and government personnel. • Identify and deliver training to keep engineering support personnel current and certified. • Apply systems engineering and operations analysis to evaluate space mission capabilities and architectures. • Participate in agile planning with analysts, developers and subject‑matter experts.

What You Bring
KBR’s National Security Solutions team is seeking a Commercial SATCOM Subject Matter Expert to contribute to high‑end engineering and advanced technology solutions for intelligence and national‑security customers. The role directly supports the nation’s critical mission of protecting its security. Candidates must hold a BA/BS degree with at least eight years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work. An active Top‑Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI is required, along with demonstrated expertise in SATCOM apportionment, allocation processes, and joint management tools. Preferred attributes include hands‑on experience with space‑based, airborne and terrestrial networks and a background in systems engineering, information technology, or electrical engineering. • BA/BS degree with 8+ years experience or equivalent; active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI. • Knowledge of SATCOM apportionment planning, allocation processes, and joint integrated management tools. • Preferred: experience with operation/maintenance of space, airborne and terrestrial networks; systems‑engineering specialization in SATCOM, IT or electrical engineering. • Normal work hours 0730‑1630, 40 hrs/week; up to 10 % travel (CONUS/OCONUS).

The position follows a standard 40‑hour work week (07:30‑16:30) and may involve up to ten percent travel both within the continental United States and overseas. Compensation ranges from $129,800 to $162,200 for the Colorado area, with additional potential for bonuses, sign‑on assistance, relocation support, and performance incentives.
