About the Role
Based in Adelaide, you will lead process engineering for a variety of impactful projects, including wastewater and potable water treatment, chemical dosing, odour control, venting, flaring, pumping systems, pipelines, and compression. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, structural, hydraulic, civil and electrical engineers to deliver innovative solutions. Key duties involve developing process designs and analyses, creating and applying simulations to improve plant efficiency, conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments, and ensuring projects comply with Australian standards. You will also provide technical guidance to junior engineers and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and process improvements. • Lead process engineering for wastewater, potable water, chemical dosing, odour control, venting, flaring, pumping, pipeline and compression projects. • Develop and analyze process designs and simulations to optimize plant performance. • Perform feasibility studies, risk assessments and ensure compliance with Australian standards. • Mentor junior engineers and support multidisciplinary teams to meet schedule and budget targets. • Utilise process simulation tools such as Biowin, Aspen HYSYS or PHAST.

What You Bring
KBR is seeking a Senior Process Engineer with at least five years of experience in sectors such as water, resources, or defence. The role offers the chance to broaden expertise across diverse industries and exciting projects. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, possess proven experience in water or defence projects, and be familiar with relevant Australian regulations. Proficiency with simulation software such as Biowin, Aspen HYSYS or PHAST, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are essential, as is a current Baseline Clearance or the ability to obtain defence clearance. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years experience in water/defence sectors. • Maintain current Baseline Clearance or ability to obtain Defence clearance. • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in a fast‑paced collaborative environment.
