About the Role
KBR Government Solutions is seeking a Metrology Technician II to support calibration and certification of electronic and dimensional measuring equipment. The role ensures traceability to NIST and contributes to mission readiness for defense, intelligence, NASA, and other federal customers. The technician calibrates, repairs, and maintains test equipment, follows schematics and test procedures, and performs complex diagnostics and design modifications. They maintain accurate records, use hand and machine tools, and provide technical support to engineering and production teams. They also mentor lower‑level staff, lead resolution of tough technical issues, and participate in safety and process‑improvement initiatives. • Calibrate, certify, and maintain electronic and dimensional test equipment per technical specifications and NIST traceability. • Perform equipment repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and configuration using schematics, blueprints, and test procedures. • Conduct complex testing, diagnostics, and design modifications on electronic, digital, and analog instrumentation. • Maintain accurate calibration, repair, maintenance, and test records in line with regulatory requirements. • Use hand tools, machine tools, laboratory test equipment, and computer‑based diagnostics to isolate and resolve issues. • Provide technical support to engineering and production teams, including troubleshooting and design recommendations. • Serve as a technical resource for customers and operators, offering guidance on equipment operation. • Lead resolution of complex technical issues and mentor/train lower‑level staff. • Participate in process‑improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost effectiveness. • Prepare activity, status, and technical reports for management and customers.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma with at least two years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with three years. U.S. citizenship is required. Preferred qualifications include military PMEL/TMDE training, experience with physical calibration (electronic, force, torque, temperature, pressure), and familiarity with Fluke Met/Team, Met/Track, or Met/Cal tools. • High school diploma with minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or associate degree with 3 years. • U.S. citizenship required. • Military PMEL/TMDE training preferred. • Experience with physical calibration of electronic, force, torque, temperature, or pressure equipment. • Familiarity with Fluke Met/Team, Met/Track, or Met/Cal systems advantageous. • Prior customer service experience a plus.
