About the Role

The Carpenter Helper assists skilled carpenters and foremen by performing supportive duties under direct supervision. The role requires general carpentry knowledge and the ability to use hand and power tools to help design, construct, erect, install, and repair wood, plywood, and wallboard structures. Helpers are expected to seek improvement opportunities, learn safety hazards, and operate tools safely in plant or construction jobsite settings. • Assist carpenter with layout, lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting materials. • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment. • Keep work area stocked with necessary materials. • Perform repetitive hand/arm and leg motions; maintain hand‑eye coordination. • Operate hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) with proper training. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. • Frequently bend, twist, crawl, kneel, reach overhead, squat, and stand while lifting. • Work on uneven, muddy, rocky, or soft surfaces and in confined spaces. • Apply decision‑making skills and attention to detail.
