About the Role

The Carpenter Helper assists skilled carpenters and carpenters' foremen by performing supportive duties under direct supervision. The role requires general carpentry knowledge and the use of hand and power tools to help design, construct, erect, install, and repair structures, fixtures, and other wood, plywood, and wallboard items. The helper seeks improvement opportunities, learns safety hazards, and works in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. • Assist Carpenter in laying out work • Assist Carpenter with lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting of materials during installation • Clean work areas, machines, and equipment • Ensure work area remains stocked with materials needed • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring

Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), perform repetitive hand/arm/leg motions, and maintain hand‑eye coordination. The employee must communicate effectively, operate various hand and power tools with proper training, climb and balance on steel or wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds, and work on uneven, muddy, or sandy surfaces, possibly in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions. Mentally, the helper must communicate clearly with management and supervision, work at varying tempos, concentrate amid distractions, make decisions, and be detail‑oriented with strong observation skills.
