About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Coordinator to assist with implementing and administering Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on project sites. The role supports a safe work environment by engaging craft crews to identify risks, plan hazard‑mitigation strategies, verify tools and equipment, and reinforce a proactive culture of care. The Safety Coordinator helps crew members complete daily paperwork such as pre‑task planning cards, standard work instructions, permits, and inspections. They conduct site safety audits, manage PPE inventory, and oversee safety provisions like spill kits, first‑aid kits, fire extinguishers, and signage. The coordinator also engages supervisors to correct hazards, exercises stop‑work authority when needed, and delivers site‑specific training and orientations. • Complete daily paperwork for crews, including pre‑task planning cards, work instructions, permits, and equipment inspections. • Perform and document site safety audits. • Manage PPE inventory and distribute to work crews. • Audit and maintain safety supplies such as spill kits, first‑aid kits, fire extinguishers, barricades, chemical labeling, SDS, and signage. • Coordinate hazardous waste disposal and track onsite chemical inventory. • Identify and correct hazards, exercising stop‑work authority when necessary. • Conduct site‑specific trainings, including First Day/First Hour orientations and safety briefings. • Interpret and communicate Mortenson policies to employees, partners, and customers.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, at least three years of industry trade experience, and one year of Mortenson tenure. Benefits

The base pay range is $59,300 to $80,000, with higher ranges for certain office locations, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
