About the Role
In this pivotal role you will act as the central coordination point for multiple projects, most commonly delivered under NEC3 contracts, ensuring effective planning, risk management and commercial reporting. You will lead from the front, solve problems and drive continuous improvement, making a real impact on project delivery. You will take responsibility for assigned projects using NEC3 or approved variants, ensuring compliance with customer, contractual, commercial and regulatory requirements. This includes implementing detailed project charters, defining scope, standards and key performance measures, producing robust time and cost estimates, managing budgets, and developing detailed plans covering quality, risk and scheduling using Microsoft Project Gantt charts. You will coordinate activities, resources and timelines to meet milestones and key dates, serve as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and build strong working partnerships to achieve high customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will champion best practice by strengthening in‑house knowledge, identifying process improvements, and promoting excellence in health & safety, environmental compliance, information security and quality management. Travel to customer sites will be required to represent the business, consistently demonstrating Galliford Try’s culture and values while maintaining exemplary documentation, reporting and record‑keeping standards. • Lead projects using NEC3 contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. • Develop and manage detailed project charters, scopes, KPIs, budgets, and schedules with Microsoft Project. • Coordinate resources and timelines to meet milestones and deliverables. • Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong partnerships and customer satisfaction. • Identify and implement process improvements, promoting best practices in health & safety, environmental compliance, and quality management. • Travel to customer sites representing the company culture and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

What You Bring
Role – Project Manager – Coventry. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager who thrives on collaboration, communicates effortlessly with stakeholders, and is passionate about delivering high‑quality outcomes that meet contractual, legislative and business goals. About you: You have experience in project management or project engineering with strong electrical and/or mechanical design capability and demonstrable commercial awareness. You bring hands‑on experience in change management, budget management, procurement and collaborative partnership working, a solid understanding of health and safety, and strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project. You are educated to HNC level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, possess excellent written communication, stakeholder negotiation and influencing abilities, strong organisational skills, and a commitment to customer service excellence, personal development and respect at work. Desirable attributes include an engineering technical background, experience within the UK municipal water sector, familiarity with NEC3 contracts, project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APM, a passion for organisational change, and experience using digital tools for project portfolio tracking and planning. • Demonstrate strong electrical/mechanical design knowledge, commercial awareness, and hands‑on experience in change, budget, procurement, and partnership working. • Hold HNC‑level engineering education, advanced IT skills (Word, Excel, Project), and excellent written communication. • Exhibit stakeholder negotiation, organisational, and prioritisation skills with a commitment to customer service excellence. • Desirable: Experience in the UK municipal water sector, familiarity with NEC3, PRINCE2/APM qualifications, and digital project portfolio tools.
