About the Role

The role works the third shift and emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Operators are expected to lead by example, support cross‑training, and engage actively in scheduled safety meetings. Key duties include configuring the mill for daily production targets, leading the mill crew, monitoring tubing quality, documenting production and time records, performing safe and efficient changeovers, and maintaining a clean, organized work area. • Set up and operate the Abbey steel tube mill to meet daily production requirements. • Lead and support mill team members to achieve production goals. • Monitor tubing quality and implement corrective actions as needed. • Generate and apply tags to all manufactured bundles. • Complete daily production records and timesheets accurately. • Submit end‑welder micrometer readings with production documentation. • Perform mill changeovers safely, efficiently, and on schedule. • Verify setups using micrometers, pi tape, levels, and tape measures. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. • Attend and actively participate in scheduled safety meetings. • Enforce company safety policies, including OSHA lockout/tagout and machine guarding. • Support and participate in cross‑training initiatives. • Submit detailed work orders for equipment issues promptly.

What You Bring

Candidates should have manufacturing or mill operating experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read and use micrometers, pi tape, levels, and other hand tools. Experience with overhead cranes, basic computer and math skills, strong communication abilities, attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality are also required. The job requires working in a warehouse or mill environment with an uncontrolled climate, wearing required personal protective equipment, and performing tasks in dusty and noisy conditions within OSHA guidelines. Physical demands include handling moving mechanical parts, using hand tools, and working scheduled overtime as needed. • Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication with supervisors and peers. • Possess manufacturing or mill operating experience and a high school diploma/GED. • Ability to read, interpret, and use micrometers, pi tape, levels, and hand tools. • Experience operating overhead cranes and ground‑operated machinery. • Basic computer and math proficiency; strong written and verbal communication. • Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. • Physical ability to work in dusty, noisy, uncontrolled‑climate environments while wearing PPE. • Capability to work around moving mechanical parts safely and perform overtime as required.
