About the Role

The AI Engineer III is a senior technical expert in the Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) located in Austin, TX, reporting to the Director of AI and BI. The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions across ESG’s technology ecosystem, including edge devices and enterprise platforms, to support the Connected Collections® strategy. Key responsibilities include architecting large‑scale AI systems such as computer‑vision and deep‑learning models, leading model development for embedded and edge deployments, and building scalable data pipelines and automated evaluation processes. The engineer also integrates AI with firmware, cloud services, and enterprise applications while ensuring security, compliance, and ethical standards. • Architect large‑scale AI systems, including computer vision, deep learning, and real‑time inference models. • Lead development and deployment of AI models on embedded and edge devices with low latency and high reliability. • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines, training workflows, and automated model‑evaluation processes. • Conduct statistical analysis, algorithm benchmarking, and model validation to ensure accuracy and robustness. • Develop high‑performance AI applications using Python, C++, JavaScript, and embedded programming languages. • Integrate AI solutions with firmware, cloud services, and enterprise applications. • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to drive continuous innovation. • Ensure AI implementations meet security, compliance, and ethical standards. • Document AI architectures, performance metrics, and deployment processes; present results to leadership.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (master’s preferred) and possess 5–8+ years of AI/ML engineering or software development experience. Required technical proficiencies include expert‑level Python, strong C++ and JavaScript skills, Linux and embedded‑system development, relational databases, ETL processes, Agile/CI‑CD practices, and modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX. The role demands strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving abilities, as well as effective communication, teamwork, and a commitment to the highest ethical and work standards. The engineer is expected to lead complex initiatives with minimal supervision, document architectures and results, and collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred). • Possess 5–8+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, software development, or related technical fields. • Demonstrate expert‑level proficiency in Python and strong experience with C++ and JavaScript. • Show strong Linux expertise and experience developing for embedded systems. • Experience with relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake) and ETL/data modeling. • Proficient with Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, test‑driven development, Git, and Jenkins. • Advanced knowledge of Pandas, NumPy, and modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX. • Exhibit strong analytical, mathematical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
