About the Role
The Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Manager will oversee routine and complex BIM administration and coordination for assigned projects, delivering detailed models, documentation, and technical support. This role supports JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values while leading 3‑D coordination efforts. The role may involve travel, lifting up to 25 lb, and working non‑traditional hours on project sites or in the office, sometimes under extreme temperature conditions. JE Dunn is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity, and provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities. • Manage VDC processes and activities to support assigned projects. • Provide models and documents necessary to complete scope as determined with VDC/BIM leadership and project teams. • Create and maintain clear, effective project documentation, including meeting agendas, minutes, and constraint logs. • Read and interpret shop drawings, submittals, and product data, incorporating them into the BIM process. • Support operations with the RFI process for BIM‑related items. • Maintain a productive and efficient BIM process. • Collaborate with VDC Directors and Self‑Perform VDC to ensure services, deliverables, and schedules meet project objectives. • Maintain working relationships with owners, subcontractors, and project teams. • Interpret owner requirements, BIM execution plans, and front‑end scopes of work to meet minimum project requirements. • Develop composite models by assembling 3D content from designers and trade contractors; create models for missing content. • Lead VDC processes and standards. • Manage change process, incorporate changes into all project models, and communicate schedule and budget impacts to operations teams. • Provide BIM technical support to internal project teams. • Participate in development of project‑specific BIM execution plans and budgets. • Implement best practices and processes. • Lead design and project teams through VDC process on multiple large projects. • Partner with cross‑functional teams to provide model‑based support and solutions. • Implement and lead project‑specific VDC strategy to meet overall objectives and goals. • Implement BIM/field layout processes on projects (Self‑Perform VDC focus). • Identify BIM/self‑perform scopes of work and support BIM/VDC self‑perform processes (Self‑Perform VDC focus). • Supervise and lead others as required. • Perform work accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. • Conduct effective presentations at an intermediate level. • Solve complex problems quickly and effectively. • Interpret BIM project requirements and apply them to VDC processes. • Lead project teams through VDC processes. • Set up and establish project‑specific VDC technology to support delivery strategy (advanced). • Build relationships and collaborate within internal and external teams.

What You Bring
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction science, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent experience, and bring at least five years of construction and BIM‑related experience. • Demonstrate advanced verbal and written communication skills. • Show advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Understand Lean process and philosophy. • Know organizational structure and available resources. • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk BIM 360 Glue. • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud. • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Design Collaboration. • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP). • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD. • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Navisworks Manage, including JE Dunn clash workflow. • Advanced proficiency with Trimble Sketch‑Up. • Intermediate proficiency with Bluebeam. • Intermediate proficiency with JE Dunn Enterprise Mobile Solution. • Intermediate proficiency with laser scanning processes. • Intermediate (Self‑Perform VDC focus, advanced) proficiency with Trimble Tekla Structures. • Intermediate (Self‑Perform VDC focus, advanced) proficiency with Trimble Field Layout Solutions. • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction science, or a related field (required). • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. • Minimum 5 + years of construction or related experience (required). • Minimum 5 + years of BIM‑related experience (required). • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required. • Ability to lift up to 25 lb. • May require periods of travel. • Willingness to work non‑traditional hours to meet business needs. • Possible exposure to extreme hot or cold conditions. • Frequent activity: sitting and viewing computer screen. • Occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
