About the Role
The position works a 1:30 pm‑10:30 pm shift, Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday once a month, providing consistent hours for financial stability. Work is performed in the repair and maintenance shop at WM’s Lake City, GA hauling site, with occasional outdoor duties in various weather conditions. Each day you will inspect, diagnose, and repair a wide range of diesel equipment, using modern tools and procedures to keep trucks serving over 20 million customers on the road. You’ll follow Standard Labor Repair Times, respond to emergency breakdown calls, and help ensure vehicle safety for employees and the community. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on various vehicles. • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and new parts. • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs). • Respond to emergency breakdown service calls. • Conduct safety checks on vehicles and document parts usage and repair times. • Assist senior mechanics with project work and complete driver vehicle inspection reports. • Maintain a clean, safe work area complying with OSHA standards.

What You Bring
The role requires frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing, and constant standing, with exposure to cuts, burns, chemicals, noise, dirt, odors and extreme weather. A clean, safe work area must be maintained in compliance with OSHA and corporate safety standards.
