About the Role
In this position you will support the heat‑treatment process, ensuring that products meet both quality standards and production requirements while operating with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for maintaining high quality and productivity levels. Key quality responsibilities include following established Statistical Process Control (SPC) procedures, completing sampling, charting, and required documentation, and identifying patterns on SPC charts. You will also test products to meet customer expectations, complete and sign production prints hourly, and use all gauges and gaging techniques to keep scrap rates within limits. Productivity duties involve independently operating heat‑treat equipment, reading and interpreting manufacturing blueprints, communicating necessary information through work assignments, and making sound decisions on tasks. You will train new operators, assist teammates in meeting productivity and quality goals, and perform minor repairs while supporting maintenance on major equipment repairs. Equipment maintenance, safety, and housekeeping are also essential. You will provide preventive maintenance on machines, monitor equipment operation and report problems, follow all OSHA safety rules and wear required PPE, keep the work area clean according to 6S standards, and safely operate forklifts while performing daily inspections. • Follow established SPC procedures, complete sampling, charting, and documentation. • Identify and respond to patterns on SPC charts. • Test products to meet customer expectations. • Complete and sign production prints hourly. • Maintain quality levels without exceeding scrap limits. • Operate heat‑treat equipment independently and learn new machines. • Read and interpret manufacturing blueprints. • Communicate necessary information through work assignments. • Make sound decisions on work tasks. • Train new operators and assist teammates in meeting productivity and quality goals. • Perform minor equipment repairs and support maintenance on major repairs. • Conduct preventive maintenance on machines per schedule. • Observe equipment operation and report issues to leadperson or supervisor. • Follow all safety rules, OSHA regulations, and wear required PPE; report hazards. • Keep work area clean following 6S standards. • Operate forklifts safely and complete daily forklift inspections. • Participate in 401(k) and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
