About the Role
The role includes residential, commercial, and roll‑off driving, requiring navigation of high‑traffic roadways, driveways, alleys, and tight industrial sites. Drivers must safely maneuver containers that can exceed 1,000 lb, perform skilled backing maneuvers, and leave customer locations clean and debris‑free. Safety is a top priority; drivers must follow WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and report unsafe situations or incidents promptly. Participation in scheduled training, briefings, and collaboration with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency are also required. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste and recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Safely back‑maneuver and load containers weighing over 1,000 lb. • Follow WM Safety, OSHA, and DOT regulations and report unsafe conditions immediately. • Communicate customer requests, service interruptions, and incidents to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation and assist other drivers as needed.
