Technical Professional - Structural
Lead offshore structural engineering design and coordination for platforms and FPSO projects
Job Highlights
About the Role
The role leads offshore structure engineering activities, ensuring alignment with project budgets, schedules, and quality standards while supervising information flow across interfaces and maintaining technical expertise for proposals and execution. Responsibilities include planning discipline engineering tasks, estimating required resources, organizing team activities, defining technical roles, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines, project teams, construction sites, and installation stakeholders to meet project milestones. Technical duties involve pre‑FEED and conceptual design of jackets and topsides, performing analyses with SACS (including platform in‑place, dynamic, boat impact, and transportation fatigue analyses), and reviewing structural design drawings, 3D models, and yard queries. • Lead offshore structure engineering within budget, schedule, and quality constraints. • Ensure compliance with project interfaces and supervise information flow. • Design and detail fixed, float‑over platforms, process platforms, FPSO/FLNG structures. • Analyze technical documents to assess study scope and identify risks. • Plan engineering activities, deliverables, and resource requirements to meet milestones. • Organize team tasks, define technical roles, and coordinate cross‑disciplinary interfaces. • Control input data, review team documents, and provide weight/COG data to control engineers. • Implement lessons learned to improve departmental processes. • Utilize finite element tools and SACS for structural verification and dynamic analyses. • Conduct pre‑FEED, conceptual design, and detailed analyses (boat impact, stability, fatigue). • Review structural design drawings, 3D models, and resolve yard queries.
