About the Role
The role partners directly with suppliers when quality, delivery, or business risk requires robust action plans. Using tools such as problem solving, auditing, material management, and load and capacity planning, the incumbent identifies and leads improvement actions. Initial Supplier Site Assessments are performed to evaluate risk before adding new suppliers to the Approved Supplier List. Capability assessments, special process audits, and production‑rate readiness reviews are conducted to verify product, process, and material management maturity. Improvement plans are developed, milestones coordinated, and actions tracked against a defined project charter. The position also supports cost‑out initiatives and new‑product introductions, ensuring timely FAI/PPAP submissions and compliance with APQP, 8D, SIOP, and material‑management processes. Acting as the liaison between suppliers and internal functions such as engineering, quality, and operations, the individual clarifies requirements, drives accountability, and monitors performance. Special programs are administered to recognize suppliers that meet standards for quality, reliability, and price, and the role collaborates with Global Procurement to expand the supplier base and improve resiliency. • Lead supplier quality actions using problem‑solving, auditing, material management, and capacity planning tools. • Conduct Supplier Site Assessments and capability audits to evaluate risk before ASL inclusion. • Develop and track improvement plans, coordinating milestones against project charters. • Assess production‑rate readiness for industrial transfers and mitigate supply‑chain disruptions. • Support cost‑out projects and new‑product introductions, ensuring timely FAI/PPAP delivery. • Coach suppliers on 8D, APQP, SIOP, and material‑management processes. • Act as liaison between suppliers and internal functions (engineering, quality, operations) to drive accountability. • Administer programs recognizing suppliers that meet quality, reliability, and price standards. • Collaborate with Global Procurement to expand the supplier base and improve resiliency.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include at least five years of experience in supply chain, operations, engineering, or quality, a bachelor’s degree, and hands‑on knowledge of ISO 9001:2015/14001:2015, APQP, FMEA, control plans, MSA, and PPAP. Candidates must hold Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) certification, preferably PMP, be willing to travel up to 30%, and reside within 50 miles of Raleigh, NC or Richmond, VA. Strong communication, strategic planning, and independent work skills are essential. • Minimum 5 years experience in supply chain, operations, engineering, or quality; bachelor’s degree required. • Experience with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, APQP, FMEA, control plans, MSA, and PPAP. • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt; PMP certification preferred. • Willingness to travel up to 30% and residence within 50 mi of Raleigh, NC or Richmond, VA. • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
