About the Role

The Sr. Test Engineer will work in Carrier’s engineering laboratories, providing test design, instrumentation expertise, and automation for water‑cooled and air‑cooled commercial chillers. The role includes overseeing performance measurement, ensuring calibration accuracy, and collaborating with vendors and process partners to maintain high productivity and operational excellence. • Design, plan, and execute test protocols for water‑cooled and air‑cooled commercial chillers. • Own and maintain instrumentation and control systems, ensuring calibration and 100 % operational readiness. • Lead lab certifications (AHRI, UL) and enforce EHS safety policies. • Develop and manage performance databases, real‑time analysis, and test catalog standards. • Troubleshoot chiller performance and laboratory support systems.

What You Bring

This hands‑on position requires frequent standing, lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working around moving mechanical equipment, with exposure to temperature variations, refrigerants, and compressed gases. Occasional after‑hours or weekend work may be needed to support critical maintenance schedules, and the engineer must champion safety and adhere to Carrier’s EHS policies. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years HVAC industry experience. • Minimum 2 years experience with flow, pressure, and temperature measurement sensors for HVAC operation. • Preferred: electrical engineering degree, performance or factory acceptance testing experience, UL508A/NEC compliance, and LabVIEW/SCADA expertise. • Hands‑on experience with VFDs, hydronic pumping systems, cooling towers, boilers, and medium‑voltage industrial power supplies. • Ability to work on feet, lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, and handle refrigerants and compressed gases safely.
