Sr. R&D Engineer - Ref. Technology Design
Develop and validate refrigeration/air‑conditioning products using vapor‑compression technology.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Lead product development of refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems within a cross‑functional team. • Collaborate with designers, mechanical, electrical and firmware engineers to create products that meet customer and regulatory specifications. • Guide concepts through stage‑gate processes from idea to deployment, ensuring timely product launches. • Partner with product management, manufacturing and quality teams to introduce new air‑conditioning, chiller, heat‑exchanger, and filter‑fan products. • Conduct R&D on vapor‑compression technology systems and perform system‑level calculations and simulations using tools such as VapCyc or CoilDesigner. • Plan and direct testing activities to qualify products against internal, industry and regulatory standards. • Provide technical leadership and mentor early‑career engineers. • Define purchased‑part requirements and work with supply leaders to source components. • Drive innovation by researching, developing and implementing cutting‑edge solutions. • Validate designs and predict performance through detailed analysis and modeling.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience. • Minimum 5 years in the HVACR industry, specializing in vapor‑compression system design and component selection. • Strong knowledge of heat‑exchanger types (tube‑fin, microchannel, plate) and their selection methodology. • Familiarity with UL, ASHRAE, AHRI and other refrigeration/air‑conditioning standards. • Proficient in SolidWorks or comparable CAD software for HVAC/refrigeration modeling. • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
