About the Role
The Construction Inspector will read and interpret contract documents, drawings and specifications, and will ensure that contractors adhere to these requirements. Responsibilities include maintaining daily records of manpower and equipment, supervising site activities under the direction of the Resident Engineer, documenting observations, reporting material deliveries, and preparing necessary measurements and surveys. The role also enforces quality control procedures, monitors compliance with performance and code standards, and oversees health and safety, reporting any violations. • Read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and health & safety measures. • Ensure contractor compliance with standards via observation, measurement, testing, and QA tracking. • Maintain daily records of contractor manpower and equipment. • Conduct site supervision and inspections as directed by Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer. • Document contractor personnel, equipment, activities, locations, reasons, and methods. • Report material deliveries and implement site instructions from leadership. • Apply and enforce site quality controls and procedures. • Prepare site measurements and surveying checks as required. • Monitor conformity to quality, performance, and code requirements through inspections. • Monitor construction health and safety, reporting violations.
