About the Role

A Helper will assist with manual needs of construction work on a Power Plant, including moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, standing by for fire safety, and any other work instructed by a supervisor or journeyman. • Move equipment, dig, retrieve items, and provide fire‑safety standby per supervisor instruction. • Operate fire extinguishers as required. • Ascend structures and scaffolding safely. • Use rigging and hoisting devices (chokers, chain falls, come‑alongs) to position materials. • Conduct preventative maintenance, including lubrication and repairing worn parts. • Follow directions from supervisors or journeymen.

What You Bring

Candidates must meet all physical demands, have experience using industrial hand and power tools, possess reliable transportation, and be available to work seven days as needed. The role requires basic knowledge of hand and power tools, problem‑solving ability, manual dexterity, good reading comprehension, teamwork, strong communication with co‑workers and supervisors, and commitment to Zachry values and safety regulations. Employees must stand, walk, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lb, use hands for precise adjustments, work at heights, and endure outdoor weather for up to 12‑hour shifts while wearing required PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, and steel‑toe boots. • Preferred: former Zachry employee with basic mechanical knowledge. • Preferred: experience on industrial construction sites and formal/technical education.
