What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program is required, along with 5–7 years of experience as an electrical engineer in power delivery. Preference is given to candidates holding a Professional Engineering (PE) license. On‑the‑job training is provided as needed. The role demands the ability to read and interpret technical documents, write simple correspondence, and respond to inquiries. Mathematical skills include applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and spreadsheet interpretation. Reasoning ability to interpret technical instructions and solve practical problems with limited standardization is essential. Additional abilities include understanding basic engineering theories, working independently, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders. Desired qualifications include a B.S. in civil/structural or electrical engineering, PE registration, and 5+ years of transmission line design experience for voltages of 69 kV and higher. Competency in all aspects of transmission line utility design, detailed bill of materials, and knowledge of NESC, ASCE, ACI, and IEEE standards is required. Experience with PLSCADD line design, PLSPOLE structure design, MFAD foundation design, cost estimating, and contract documents is valued. The job involves predominantly sitting (≈2/3) with occasional standing, walking, and frequent hand use. Lifting requirements are modest (up to 25 lb occasionally). The work environment includes moderate office noise, occasional exposure to outdoor weather, and occasional risk of electrical shock. Peripheral vision is required. • Deliver effective oral and written communication.
