About the Role
The position requires making, assembling, installing, and removing formwork and various metal and wood fixtures. • Build cooling tower structures using required tools and materials. • Examine blueprints, sketches, or plans to determine material needs and dimensions. • Select, load, and haul job material to the work site. • Prepare layout of form or fixture using lines or grades. • Measure and mark boards, timbers, or plywood, then cut to size with saws, chisels, and planes. • Verify accuracy of structure with transit, plumb bob, square, and level. • Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, screwdrivers, wrenches, saws, drills, and pry bars. • Nail cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete‑supporting forms. • Brace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts for concrete piers, footings, and walls. • Erect framework for structures and lay sub‑flooring. • Cut and assemble timbers to build trestles and cofferdams. • Erect scaffolding and install ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways. • Construct forms, chutes, and align form panels for pouring concrete and grout. • Fit and install prefabricated window frames, doors, weather stripping, interior/exterior trim, and hardware. • Fit and nail sheathing on outer walls and roofs; set and brace anchor bolts. • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning with tools and equipment. • Operate electric and pneumatic tools. • Rig materials as required. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.

What You Bring
Journeyman positions require at least three years of documented field experience in the chosen craft discipline, the ability to read and interpret instructions, and the capability to plan and perform work independently. Certified Journeymen must hold NCCER written and/or practical certifications. Leadmen provide leadership, instruction, and guidance to craft workers, assisting the foreman while functioning as journeymen. Typical qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent combined with relevant experience. Candidates should possess knowledge of common industry concepts, practices, and procedures, rely on established guidelines, and work under immediate supervision without independent judgment. The role reports to a supervisor or manager. Physical demands include frequent standing (70%), walking (20%) and occasional sitting (10%). Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lb, climb, balance, and perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering with varying frequency.
