About the Role
The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations leads collection activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off and container services in a dispersed geographic area. Reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager, the supervisor oversees drivers and helpers, implements tactical initiatives, and ensures budget achievement while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory and ethical standards. Key responsibilities encompass safety leadership, customer experience, operational efficiency and employee engagement. The supervisor removes unsafe conditions, partners with sales and maintenance, and drives accident‑prevention programs. They ensure service meets or exceeds customer expectations, resolve unusual requests, and manage route productivity, labor hours and disposal costs. Additionally, they cultivate a collaborative team environment and develop talent for future advancement. • Lead safety initiatives, remove unsafe conditions, and enforce accident‑prevention programs. • Partner with sales and maintenance to ensure equipment compliance and safe routes. • Provide superior customer service, resolve service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes promptly. • Optimize routes, increase density, and reduce travel hours to improve efficiency. • Manage labor hours and disposal expenses to meet budget targets. • Drive productivity goals for drivers and exceed operational expectations. • Foster employee engagement, coach team members, and develop talent for advancement. • Execute operational plans supporting fleet quality, maintenance, and service delivery.
