About the Role
The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations supervises collections activities across commercial, residential, roll‑off, and container services in a geographically dispersed area. Reporting to the Operations Manager and General Manager, the role drives functional excellence, budget achievement, and compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, accounting, and ethical standards. Safety is a core focus; the supervisor leads safety initiatives, removes unsafe conditions from driver routes, partners with sales and maintenance to ensure equipment compliance, and promotes a culture of safety through active employee participation and loss‑control programs. The supervisor ensures a superior customer experience by meeting or exceeding pickup goals, resolving service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely communication, and representing the company positively to build loyalty. Efficiency is achieved by setting productivity goals, optimizing routes for density, reducing route hours, managing labor and disposal costs, and supporting fleet maintenance. • Lead drivers and helpers to achieve safety, customer experience, and efficiency targets • Implement and maintain safety and accident prevention programs, removing unsafe conditions • Resolve service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes with timely stakeholder communication • Optimize and redesign routes to maximize density, reduce hours, and improve productivity • Manage labor hours and disposal expenses to meet or exceed budget goals • Coach and develop team members, fostering engagement and career growth
