About the Role
The Workforce Planner coordinates, tracks, and optimizes personnel allocation across all functional departments supporting active capital projects. Acting as the central interface between Project Controls and department managers, the planner ensures the right resources are available at the right time while maintaining visibility into capacity, utilization, and future demand. This data‑driven, coordination‑focused role is ideal for an early‑career professional seeking exposure to large‑scale project execution. In this role you will serve as the primary resource coordination point for functions such as Safety, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Finance. You will maintain a centralized demand and allocation model, collect and validate manpower requests, and confirm availability and skill sets with department managers. Additional duties include tracking staffing against budgets, developing forecasts, supporting hiring and contractor planning, and delivering dashboards that highlight headcount, capacity, utilization, and staffing risks. Close collaboration with Cost and Scheduling teams will align staffing plans with project baselines, while you will also improve and automate tracking tools using Excel, databases, or project‑control systems. • Coordinate resource allocation between Project Controls and functional departments (Safety, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, etc.). • Maintain a centralized demand and allocation model for all active and upcoming projects. • Collect, validate, and prioritize manpower requests from project managers and discipline leads. • Confirm resource availability, skill sets, and deployment timing with department managers. • Track staffing against project budgets and schedules to identify over‑ or under‑utilization. • Develop staffing forecasts based on schedules, cost profiles, and execution plans. • Support hiring, onboarding, and contractor planning by identifying upcoming resource gaps. • Create and maintain leadership dashboards showing headcount, capacity vs. demand, utilization trends, and staffing risks. • Align staffing plans with project baselines through collaboration with Cost and Scheduling teams. • Improve and automate resource tracking tools using Excel, databases, or project‑control systems.

What You Bring
We seek candidates with a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in finance, business administration, supply chain, MIS, computer science, industrial engineering, or a related analytical field. Zero to three years of experience is expected, with internships or co‑ops in operations, project management, analytics, or business systems considered a plus. Required technical skills include strong Excel proficiency, comfort with databases and dashboards, and the ability to learn scheduling and cost‑control tools such as Primavera P6, Power BI, or ERP systems. Candidates must be highly organized, detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to communicate effectively across multiple departments in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in finance, business, supply chain, MIS, computer science, industrial engineering, or related field. • Possess 0–3 years of experience; internships or co‑ops in operations, project management, analytics, or business systems are a plus. • Demonstrate strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis. • Be comfortable working with databases, dashboards, and project‑management systems; able to learn Primavera P6, Power BI, ERP, etc. • Exhibit strong data organization, reporting, and analytical abilities. • Show high attention to detail, organization, and ability to coordinate across multiple departments. • Communicate effectively and follow up consistently in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
