About the Role

The superintendent will oversee coordination, planning, and supervision of assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within the electrical discipline, ensuring project objectives are met. • Coordinate electrical work projects on the building site • Ensure high‑quality installation of underground cabling, overhead lines, and substation construction • Review drawings, constructability, and submittals with engineering, verifying material and workmanship quality • Partner with Sr. Superintendent on formwork selection, equipment sizing, and site utilization • Develop project schedules and three 3‑week look‑ahead plans with Sr. Superintendent • Supervise and control quality of both self‑performed and subcontracted work teams • Manage interface for connecting the project power grid to the existing distribution system • Oversee installation, splicing, and termination of fiber optic cables • Participate in project meetings and act as liaison between field engineers, contractors, and craft workers

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent for its Power Delivery Services Group. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, efficiency, professionalism, and confidentiality while interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent), have extensive high‑ and medium‑voltage experience, and possess at least 13 years of supervisory experience, along with deep knowledge of industry codes and testing methods. Visa sponsorship is not available and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent • Minimum 12 years experience with high and medium voltage equipment, cable installation, transmission/collection lines, and substation construction • Minimum 13 years of supervisory experience • Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of high/medium‑voltage cables • Knowledge of cable testing methods such as current injection, Hi‑pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, and Doble • Working knowledge of electrical drawings, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes, vaults, pad‑mount transformers, and SCADA systems • Familiarity with NESC, NEC, IEEE, NEMA, OSHA codes and industry safety standards • Current driver’s license and ability to travel 100%
