About the Role

The work is generally routine and follows established procedures, with occasional need for tact when exchanging information outside the work group. The position does not include supervisory responsibilities. • Provide engineering/technical expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems. • Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities. • Prepare thorough technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches. • Continuously improve engineering, technical, and professional knowledge and performance. • Select and specify substation equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, and protection relays. • Perform engineering calculations and simulations to ensure reliable operation.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an EAC/ABET‑accredited program (or equivalent advanced degree) is required, along with 0‑1 year of experience in electrical substations. A passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam is preferred. The candidate must be able to read and interpret technical documents, write simple correspondence, and present information clearly to diverse audiences. Required mathematical skills include basic arithmetic, fractions, percentages, ratios, and introductory algebra and geometry. Additional abilities include interpreting instructions, handling standardized situations, and applying basic electrical engineering principles, substation construction standards, and project‑management concepts. Strong written and oral communication, self‑motivation, teamwork, and customer orientation are also essential. The role involves occasional standing, walking, and frequent use of hands for tools, as well as regular sitting, talking, and hearing. Lifting requirements are limited to up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The work environment is an office setting with moderate noise; occasional exposure to outdoor weather, wet conditions, and a risk of electrical shock may occur.
