About the Role
The gate manager supervises all Gate In and Gate Out activities, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted operations while keeping truck turnaround times to a minimum and preventing traffic congestion at the gate. Documentation for import, export, and allotment is handled on an as‑needed basis. Responsibility includes overseeing weighbridge operations and guaranteeing that calibration meets both statutory and operational requirements. The manager also plans and manages gate and weighbridge staffing, providing training, upskilling, and ensuring shift coverage. Regular toolbox meetings are conducted with gate and weighbridge teams to reinforce safety, process adherence, and operational updates. Performance reviews with vendors are coordinated to assess service quality, and operational queries or exceptions are resolved promptly. Accurate records of seal mismatches, container damage, and scanning discrepancies are maintained.

What You Bring
The role demands strict adherence to SOPs, safety norms, and compliance standards at all times, while supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost gate efficiency and service levels. Strong experience in large‑scale gate operations, knowledge of import/export processes, and effective communication with internal teams and external vendors are essential. • Demonstrated expertise in managing high‑pressure gate operations and large teams. • In‑depth understanding of import, export, and allotment documentation procedures. • Proven ability to train, upskill, and schedule staff across multiple shifts. • Skilled at conducting safety toolbox meetings and enforcing SOP compliance. • Experience evaluating vendor performance and managing service contracts. • Strong problem‑solving capabilities for resolving operational exceptions. • Effective communication and coordination with internal stakeholders and external partners. • Working knowledge of compliance requirements and operational controls.
