About the Role
The position involves assisting with identifying tools, assessing safety risks, detecting equipment problems, and disassembling, repairing or replacing machine parts. Additional duties include testing machinery, performing preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, steam components, pumps, and other production equipment, as well as cleaning, lubricating, and conducting basic diagnostics. • Identify required tools for tasks. • Assess safety risks and implement precautions. • Detect minor to major equipment problems. • Disassemble, repair, or replace machine parts. • Perform tests to ensure smooth machinery operation. • Conduct preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors, steam valves, coils, radiators, pumps, and production machines. • Clean and lubricate machinery. • Execute basic diagnostic tests and performance checks. • Use precision measuring instruments (rulers, calipers, micrometers) for dimensional verification. • Operate engine lathes, grinders, and files. • Unload, inspect, and position equipment using cranes, hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks. • Employ rigging and hoisting devices (chokers, chain falls, come‑alongs) to move materials. • Follow supervisor directions and perform other assigned duties. • Adhere to Zachry safety rules and company values.

What You Bring
The role requires 1‑12 months of experience working as an industrial helper, the ability to follow instructions, reliable transportation, and the flexibility to work up to seven days as needed. Candidates must meet all physical demands, have experience on industrial construction projects, and possess the required tools. Required qualifications include strong problem‑solving abilities, manual dexterity, reading comprehension, effective communication, and the ability to work both independently and as a team player. Employees must commit to Zachry values, safety rules, and regulations, with preferred candidates having former Zachry employment, ROF status, industrial construction experience, or formal technical education. Physical demands involve extensive standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working in all weather conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirators, hi‑vis vests, gloves, and steel‑toe boots.
