About the Role
In this role, the manager will apply expertise in selling WM services through inside‑sales tactics to generate additional revenue. They will develop and implement sales and marketing programs that address current and future customer needs, while guiding the Inside Sales Team. The manager will uphold WM’s corporate sales strategy, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction on all transactions. They will work closely with the Market Area Sales Manager to resolve unique customer issues. Supervision includes ensuring team members meet or exceed sales call activity goals for new sales, lead generation, and contact productivity. Responsibilities also cover forecasting staffing needs, recruiting qualified candidates, and providing both formal training and informal coaching. Accurate customer records—prospects, contracts, orders, and service documentation—must be maintained. The manager will collaborate with the Area Sales Manager to develop outbound strategies for upselling and cross‑selling, and will communicate goals to representatives while arranging necessary training. Direct supervision extends to twelve full‑time employees, including Account Executives and a Program Manager, providing guidance and performance feedback. The position combines work‑from‑home and in‑office duties, requiring use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. • Lead and manage the Great Lakes Area Inside Sales Team (12 full‑time staff) in a hybrid Plymouth, MI setting. • Implement WM’s corporate sales strategy and design inside‑sales tactics to drive revenue. • Ensure high customer satisfaction on all sales transactions and resolve unique issues with the Market Area Sales Manager. • Drive team performance to meet or exceed sales call, lead generation, and contact productivity targets. • Forecast staffing needs and recruit qualified candidates for Inside Sales positions. • Develop and deliver formal training and informal coaching for Inside Sales Representatives. • Maintain and update accurate customer records, including prospects, contracts, and service documentation. • Collaborate with the Area Sales Manager to create and execute upsell and cross‑sell outbound campaigns. • Communicate goals and provide necessary training to enable representatives to meet expectations. • Directly supervise Account Executives and a Program Manager, providing guidance and performance feedback.

What You Bring
The Inside Sales Manager will oversee the Great Lakes Area (GLA) inside sales team, working from a hybrid location in Plymouth, MI. Candidates must reside locally and be prepared to attend the office as needed. Prior management or supervisory experience is preferred. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and a high school diploma or GED with four years of relevant experience. Candidates need three years of business‑to‑business sales management experience and three additional years of direct B2B sales, with proven success in a Level 4‑6 sales position. Candidates must possess a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative, as travel by air or access to federal property may be required. • Required: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) plus 4 years relevant experience, including 3 years B2B sales management. • Proven success in a Level 4‑6 sales role with at least 3 years of direct B2B sales experience.
