About the Role
You will provide expert guidance on Indian competition laws, offer legal and strategic advice to the business, and manage competition law risks proactively. Responsibilities include creating and delivering training sessions on competition law topics and ensuring compliance across commercial and non‑commercial operations. You will support M&A transactions that have competition law regulatory requirements in India and globally. Collaboration with commercial stakeholders and the legal team will be essential to shape strategies and improve internal processes. This newly created position offers the opportunity to define the role and contribute to building a dedicated competition law function. You will lead on complex behavioral competition issues and serve as the point of contact for the Competition Commission of India. The role also involves contributing to the global competition law programme and driving cross‑functional collaboration. • Lead competition law matters for India legal and operational teams, focusing on complex behavioral issues. • Manage and analyse competition-related queries from legal and operational teams in India and globally. • Interact with the Competition Commission of India, respond to information requests, and oversee investigations and enforcement. • Identify risks and provide clear, practical competition law advice to stakeholders. • Conduct antitrust self‑assessment checks and drive remediation measures. • Serve as subject‑matter expert on strategic projects bridging commercial and legal requirements. • Assist in developing and implementing the global competition law programme, controls and processes. • Create and deliver internal antitrust trainings and manage communication on compliance topics. • Anticipate regulatory or policy changes and adapt internal programmes accordingly. • Collaborate across teams and regions to support the cross‑functional competition law team.

What You Bring
• Law degree from a reputable university; LLM in competition law advantageous. • Minimum 10 years post‑qualification experience, including at least 5 years at a Tier 1 Indian law firm or in‑house global counsel role handling competition matters. • Strong written and verbal English skills; additional language a plus. • Experience in international, multi‑jurisdictional environments dealing with Indian and EU competition laws. • Proven exposure to advising on basic to highly complex competition matters, including dawn raids. • Experience leading projects and managing cross‑functional teams. • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and ability to devise digital solutions for e‑discovery. • Commercially strategic mindset with integrity and proactive approach. • Strong analytical skills to identify risks, evaluate mitigation actions, and summarise complex topics. • Ability to make commercially sound, risk‑based decisions. • Creative problem‑solving while balancing flexibility and risk. • Capability to work independently and prioritize tasks, deadlines, and risks. • Collaborative style, engaging legal, operational and management stakeholders. • Strong relationship‑building skills across all levels, influencing global senior leadership in a matrixed organization. • High professionalism and emotional intelligence.
