About the Role
• Select pipe type and size, plus related materials per specifications. • Inspect worksite for obstructions. • Plan installation sequence to avoid conflicts. • Cut pipe using appropriate tools. • Thread pipe with threading machine. • Bend pipe manually or with bending tools. • Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings. • Assemble and install metal or non‑metal pipes and fittings using various joint methods. • Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers. • Install and maintain refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems, including compressors and controls. • Test piping systems for leaks by pressurizing and monitoring gauges. • Weld pipe supports to structural steel. • Observe production machines to detect malfunctions and operate them to verify repairs. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment. • Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing materials during installation. • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Use respiratory protection as required. • Observe and comply with all safety and project regulations. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Plan work and select proper tools. • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. • Compare and discern differences in size, shape, and form of lines and objects.

What You Bring
Journeyman with at least three years documented field experience, capable of reading and interpreting instructions, planning and performing independent work. The role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for various steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and production processes. Candidates typically need a high school diploma or equivalent plus relevant experience. They must possess knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures, rely on guidelines, work under immediate supervision, and report to a manager. The position requires basic mathematical skills, ability to visualize three‑dimensional drawings, and comfort working at heights. The job demands physical stamina, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb, and frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Workers must use respiratory protection when required and adhere strictly to safety and project rules.
