Job Highlights
About the Role
The Motor Associate is responsible for a range of assembly, testing, and finishing duties required to produce electric motors. This role may involve working on one or more specific functions such as motor assembly, testing, spray painting, winding, encapsulation, rotor assembly, and related processes. The associate must follow detailed specifications, drawings, and standard operating procedures to ensure product quality and traceability. Daily tasks include interpreting specification sheets and assembly drawings, fabricating parts with precision tools, performing mechanical and electrical tests, operating spray booths, and managing material inventories through Kanban systems. Associates also set up and run winding machines for both stator and armature production, conduct resistance tests, and adjust machine parameters when required. Additional responsibilities cover motor encapsulation, varnish dip‑and‑bake, core processing, magnet handling, and commutation device assembly. • Interpret specification sheets, assembly, outline, and hook‑up drawings to assemble various motor types. • Fabricate parts, coils, and structures using drills, calipers, cutters, or saws and maintain traceability records. • Perform mechanical and electrical testing using Goldline auto tester, MATS station, and back‑drive station, completing required test data sheets. • Prepare and paint components, masking areas, mixing epoxy/laminates, operating spray booths, and maintaining paint inventory. • Gather wire and lamination materials, set up winding machines, run programs, and conduct resistance and other tests on armatures and stators. • Execute winding machine adjustments, crimping, sensor assembly, varnishing, polishing, and press operations as needed. • Conduct motor encapsulation, varnish dip‑and‑bake, sub‑assembly, and post‑process cleaning following SOPs. • Assemble rotors and core components, perform turning, balancing, sandblasting, deburring, and coating operations. • Process magnets and yoke‑ring sub‑assemblies, performing cleaning, bonding, painting, and hazardous‑waste packaging. • Perform laminations, commutator bar processing, powder‑coating, wave soldering, and inspection of bar blanks. • Assemble commutation devices, spot‑weld brush springs, solder components, and conduct final inspections using precision tools.
