About the Role
The Building Maintenance Technician assists with operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs on commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties. This role supports the overall functionality and safety of facilities across various environments. • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems, including packaging machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, grounds equipment, and HVAC. • Clean, lubricate, and service pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices. • Install and modify building equipment and systems. • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wallpaper, and paint walls, piping, floors, and equipment. • Evaluate and recommend upgrades to maintenance operations and implement cost‑saving opportunities. • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests. • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and perform preventative maintenance. • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms and fire pumps. • Perform carpentry work and snow removal as needed. • Comply with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives while practicing safe work habits. • Utilize technology such as smart phones, tablets, computers, web‑based applications, and building automation systems. • Complete all required C&W safety training annually. • Follow C&W uniform dress code and maintain a neat, clean appearance on‑site.

What You Bring
The position operates primarily in a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Physical demands include regular communication, computer use, moving around the workplace, and remaining stationary for short periods. Successful candidates demonstrate technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multi‑tasking ability, and a sense of urgency, and must hold a high school diploma or GED. They should have at least two years of experience in a commercial property setting and may have training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair, along with a valid driver’s license and basic computing skills. • Demonstrate competent knowledge of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance. • Possess technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multi‑tasking ability, and a sense of urgency. • Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent. • Have at least 2 + years of related experience in a commercial property setting. • Receive technical, vocational, or on‑the‑job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record; commercial license may be required. • Possess basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Benefits
Compensation ranges from $25.50 to $30.00 per hour, with competitive pay based on location, experience, and collective bargaining agreements. The benefits package includes health, vision, dental, retirement, life and disability insurance, as well as paid and unpaid time off, and the company ensures compliance with minimum wage laws.
