About the Role
The Account Manager will proactively maintain and retain relationships with existing commercial and industrial waste service customers within an assigned territory. The role also focuses on growing revenue by expanding the penetration of Republic Services' full suite of products among the current client base. Key duties include building long‑term customer loyalty, staying knowledgeable about the company's service lines and pricing, and renewing contracts to enhance profitability. The manager must handle cancellation requests, support pricing initiatives, and document all interactions in Salesforce each day. Collaboration is essential; the Account Manager meets regularly with the sales manager to assess retention metrics, works with operations to resolve service issues, and represents the company at trade shows and community events. • Maintain and retain existing customers by building long‑term relationships and loyalty. • Develop deep knowledge of Republic Services’ offerings, pricing structures, and recommend additional services to current accounts. • Conduct contractual re‑signs to extend relationships and improve profitability. • Handle cancellation requests according to the established escalation policy. • Communicate proactively to support company pricing initiatives. • Use Salesforce daily to schedule and record calls, meetings, and proposals. • Capture customer email communications while minimizing rate restrictions and credits. • Grow account penetration by selling the complete suite of Republic Services products. • Meet weekly with the Sales Manager to review retention activities, goals, and key relationships. • Partner with operations teams to resolve service issues as needed. • Represent the company at trade shows, chamber of commerce events, and other sponsored activities.

What You Bring
Candidates should have at least one year of relevant sales experience and a valid driver’s license, with a preference for those who have worked in the waste or transportation sectors. • Minimum of one year relevant sales experience. • Valid driver’s license required. • Preferred experience in waste or transportation industry.
