About the Role
The Shop Foreman role supervises employees engaged in repairing and maintaining rental equipment, coordinating the Service Department workload for maximum efficiency and productivity while delivering quality repairs. The foreman instructs and trains service technicians on best practices for equipment repair and safety, and inspects completed work to ensure quality. They drive continuous improvement by reducing turnaround times and streamlining processes, while collaborating with other areas to provide seamless customer service. Daily responsibilities include directing technicians and yard staff, scheduling service and maintenance on‑site or at customer job sites, and coordinating breakdown responses. What You Bring
Ideal candidates have a trade school or college degree (bachelor’s or associate’s) preferred, a valid driver’s license, and prior supervisory experience. At least five years of mechanical experience in the rental or a similar industry, strong customer relations and communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and knowledge of repair methods and tools are required, along with a proven safety record. The role demands physical activity such as bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting 50 lb or more, and may involve indoor or outdoor work. • Trade school or college degree (bachelor’s or associate’s) preferred • Valid driver’s license • Previous supervisory experience • 5+ years of mechanical experience in the rental or similar industry • Proven customer relations and communication skills • Basic computer skills for data entry • Knowledge of methods, materials and tools to repair and maintain rental equipment • Proven safety record
