About the Role

Key responsibilities include partnering with Finance process owners to assess pain points, gaps, and interdependencies, then designing and implementing future‑state solutions. The manager will foster a continuous improvement mindset through KPI/metric target‑setting, process mining, and enablement training. Leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, the role will develop process mappings, reengineer frameworks, and provide toolkits such as flow diagrams, role definitions, and gap‑analysis reports, while contributing to best‑practice documentation. • Partner with finance process owners to identify and automate critical improvements across functions. • Design and implement future‑state solutions addressing pain points, gaps, and interdependencies. • Promote continuous improvement through KPI/metric targets, process mining, and enablement training. • Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to create process maps, reengineer frameworks, and develop toolkits (flow diagrams, role definitions, gap analyses). • Contribute to creation, deployment, and maintenance of best‑practice documentation. • Build relationships with diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Process Optimization Manager to drive top‑priority, cross‑functional process improvements for Finance. The role leads complex improvement and transformation initiatives across finance and related functional areas to enable scale, operational efficiency, and agility. The candidate must possess strong expertise in business performance improvement and process design, evaluating gaps and developing actionable outcomes with process owners. Qualifications require a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of experience leading process improvement initiatives, preferably within Finance. Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred, as is the ability to influence without authority. Candidates should have proven expertise in implementing Lean continuous‑improvement practices, strong problem‑solving and innovative skills, and excellent communication and active‑listening abilities. • Bachelor’s degree required. • Minimum 7 + years leading process improvement, preferably in finance. • Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred. • Proven ability to influence without authority. • Experience implementing Lean/continuous improvement practices. • Strong problem‑solving, detail‑orientation, and innovative mindset. • Excellent communication and active listening skills.

The base pay range for this position is $111,500 – $167,300, with higher rates in select locations, and the role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
