About the Role

The Sorter role focuses on safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities meet the quality standards required by brokers or mills. This position is essential to Republic Services' recycling operations and supports the company's sustainability objectives. Key duties include sorting and segregating recoverable materials such as aluminum, plastic, glass, and paper; depositing sorted items into the appropriate chutes; and assisting fellow sorters with heavy or bulky items as needed. The Sorter must follow all safety policies, stop conveyor belts in emergencies, inspect loads for unacceptable waste, remove improper items, and communicate special load requirements to equipment operators. Additional job‑related tasks are performed as assigned.

What You Bring
