About the Role

• Supervise overall financial health of projects. • Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections. • Allocate project estimates, determine cost codes, and approve invoices. • Provide financials and billings to Accounting; create monthly owner billings. • Manage subcontracts, suppliers, budget, and selections. • Lead Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers; assign jobs and train staff. • Act as primary contact with owner and on‑site representative. • Resolve site concerns, manage change orders, and obtain approvals. • Maintain schedule and budget while overseeing quality, risk, safety, and compliance.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager I to lead one large project or multiple projects, overseeing quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the team. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication to interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. Flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, efficiency, integrity, and confidentiality are essential for success. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship. The posting typically remains open for a minimum of five days, averaging 44 days, and Mortenson does not accept unsolicited agency communications without a valid agreement. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience. • Minimum of eight years of construction/project management experience. • Ability to manage multiple large, complex projects. • Strong active‑listening and communication skills, open to diverse input. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, project, and web applications. • Positive professional attitude with strong customer‑service focus. • Ability to interpret and apply Mortenson policies. • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 100%. • Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

The base salary ranges from $144,300 to $216,500, with higher ranges for specific locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
