Job Highlights
About the Role
The incumbent will support engineering personnel worldwide by setting up, installing, and completing product tests in accordance with defined procedures for the Mobility Group engineering divisions. The role focuses on delivering accurate automotive power‑train testing results on schedule. Key duties include assembling test rigs for transmission, hydraulic, engine, clutch and differential systems, executing test requests with minimal downtime, and applying corrective actions when performance deviates from limits. The technician will liaise with engineers to clarify test objectives, communicate results, and ensure a safe, clean laboratory that meets customer‑visit standards. Additional responsibilities involve analyzing mechanical assembly issues, preparing engine and cylinder‑head test setups, troubleshooting rig problems, and performing data acquisition and analysis using tools such as Oscilloscopes, Yokogawa, and LabVIEW. The role also requires creating fixture drawings in CAD software, producing technical reports, and training fellow technicians while driving custom testing projects. • Set up and execute automotive power‑train test procedures, minimizing downtime. • Perform mechanical assembly and engine/cylinder‑head preparation for testing. • Apply corrective actions and troubleshoot test‑rig and product issues. • Communicate test plans and results with engineering teams. • Develop custom fixtures and create CAD drawings for test equipment. • Maintain a clean, safe lab environment and ensure ISO/IATF compliance. • Generate technical reports and train junior technicians. • Conduct electrical tests (overload, dielectric, functional) on LV/MV switchgear and power‑train components. • Utilize data‑acquisition tools (Oscilloscope, Yokogawa, LabVIEW) and software (FAMOS, Altair). • Apply Lean methodologies for continuous improvement and cost savings.
