About the Role

The role involves partnering with ITS, Finance, HR, and Operations to implement software releases, patches, and upgrades, overseeing end-to-end payroll processes for multi-state and union payrolls, and leading implementation of payroll technology solutions such as UKG, Passport, Oracle HCM, or HCSS. Responsibilities include analyzing payroll data, troubleshooting complex issues, drafting requirements and test scripts, providing training, and building relationships across the organization to achieve objectives. • Resolve payroll system issues and implement enhancements. • Partner with ITS, Finance, HR, and Operations on software releases, patches, and upgrades. • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including multi-state and union payrolls. • Lead implementation and optimization of payroll technologies such as UKG, Passport, Oracle HCM, or HCSS. • Analyze payroll data to identify process improvements and ensure compliance with tax, garnishment, and reporting requirements. • Draft requirements documents, develop test scripts, and conduct end-user training. • Build cross-functional relationships to achieve organizational goals.

Mortenson is seeking a Senior Payroll Systems Analyst who will support Payroll Operations and Financial Reporting, collaborating with HR, end users, and ITS to resolve issues and implement enhancements. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or 5+ years experience), advanced Excel, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of payroll systems (Oracle HCM, UKG, Passport, HCSS); Oracle ERP experience is preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HRIS, MIS or equivalent; or 5+ years relevant experience. • Advanced Excel proficiency. • Strong problem-solving and active listening skills. • Experience with Oracle HCM, UKG, Passport, HCSS; Oracle ERP preferred. • Effective communication and openness to diverse input.
