About the Role

Key duties include migrating workloads using both lift-and-shift and full modernization approaches, designing event-driven services with AWS native components, and building automation for provisioning, monitoring, and management of cloud resources. The developer will also support CI/CD pipeline design, implement Infrastructure as Code, and contribute to cost-optimization initiatives. • Execute lift‑and‑shift and re‑architect migrations of on‑premises infrastructure to AWS. • Design event‑driven architectures using Lambda, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge. • Develop automation tools for provisioning, monitoring, and managing cloud environments. • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline. • Apply Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. • Implement configuration management with Ansible (or Chef/Puppet). • Write automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell. • Implement FinOps strategies to optimize AWS cloud spend. • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.

What You Bring

The position is based in Sioux Falls, SD, but remote work will be considered; US citizenship is required for contractual and security reasons. Successful candidates will work under contract award conditions and must meet residency and background-check criteria. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in a technical field and have at least six years of experience with AWS cloud engineering, DevOps, or software development, including hands‑on migration and event‑driven design. Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK), configuration management (Ansible), scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell), and cloud security best practices is essential. • Hold a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and 6+ years of relevant experience. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of AWS security, networking, and best practices. • Exhibit excellent troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation abilities. • Prefer AWS certifications: Developer – Associate, DevOps Engineer – Professional, or Security – Specialty. • Meet special requirement of 3 years continuous U.S. residency and ability to obtain a national agency security clearance.
