About the Role

The Electrical Shift Engineer will join the engineering shift team in a critical facilities/data‑centre environment, focusing on the inspection, operation and maintenance of MEP assets. The role is electrically biased and involves leading planned, corrective and reactive maintenance, issuing permits‑to‑work, and ensuring compliance with risk assessments and method statements. • Maintain and troubleshoot MEP systems in critical facilities, with an emphasis on electrical components. • Lead planned, corrective and reactive maintenance tasks and issue permits‑to‑work. • Ensure specialist vendor visits are completed efficiently, inspected for quality, and reported to shift leaders. • Provide engineering shift relief cover and maintain minimum staffing levels across shifts. • Accurately record completed work orders, including critical spares and time spent, in the CMMS (Corrigo). • Prepare and deliver shift handover reports, highlighting significant events for incoming teams. • Participate in health‑and‑safety activities: hazard/near‑miss reporting, toolbox talks, and compliance checks. • Liaise with the supply chain to order M&E components for remedial and corrective work. • Take ownership of plant rooms and other controlled areas, maintaining them to show‑site standards. • Evaluate, assess and escalate potential risks with mitigation recommendations. • Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives for safe work systems and compliance with H&S policies. • Complete work orders in line with SFG20 standards and ensure asset reliability. • Escalate ONWH alarm notifications per EMEA MEP operation procedures.

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 years experience in critical environments such as data centres or banking HQs. • Authorized Person (High & Low Voltage) certification and Level 3 Electrical/Mechanical engineering qualification. • 18th Edition IET Wiring and Installation certification (electrical biased). • C&G 2391 Inspection, Test and Certification or equivalent, and current BS 7671 knowledge. • Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with all staff levels. • Experience leading and motivating a small engineering team. • Willingness to attend on‑site and off‑site training, including night stays for specialist courses.
